You almost need to break up rent on the fridge. All the real estate that jar takes up could pay your power bill. Wink

Apparently he didn't like all the razzing he's been getting from that. He made it go away sometime yesterday.

Thanks Raz. I appreciate the feedback. I did shoot an apology to Shoe for messing with his story as far as the pearls go. I'm glad you liked it though.

Call it creative license...or a little halflings creative storytelling to make him sound a little more competent to his friends. Oh well, in any case it was still a very good retelling.

I actually welcomed the story post. I thought it was good. I would just have rather painted the PCs in a more heroic light.

The party could have been trailed by a rogue, sure.. But that rogue should have been surprised and amazed at what the party was capable of. At least he should have re-evaluated his underestimation when the behir was killed.

Commonly, I like to look at the party from the perspective of an unsavory sort. (its my job, as DM) But as the PCs gain in levels, they begin deserving a certain degree of respect. Of course, it isn't exactly easy to say "hey look! there's a 7th level wizard!", especially as a first impression. But seeing them in action should make their level of competence a bit more evident.

This isn't to disparage your story, or your comments, even the bit about the pearls was not a big deal -- in fact, having the summary was a welcome addition to the forums.

In response to painting the party in a positive light, I thought about how to write the story for quite some time. After reading the other stories, I noticed that they were all in a very positive light. That is naturally to be expected, after all, these stories are recounts of events as remembered by the heros.

As I was writing this as an outsider, I chose to reverse the common view completely. Unfortunately, I didn't give enough background to make the Halfling's point of view obvious. As he was meant to be an evil looter, his frustration continued to grow as the party continued to survive.

That said, I am glad that the story was enjoyed. It was a lot of fun to write. I have a warped sence of humor and that tends to manifest itself in most other things I do. As a hero, I would tend to write in a more positive light. It was fun to try my hand at writing, something I really haven't done since high school.

Thank you again for giving me the chance to share my warped viewpoint with you. Smile

If invited, I would be happy to attend. When you refer to an ongoing story, do you mean from the same character or just a series from third person viewpoints? I would be happy to continue to document your adventures.

For what it is worth, I will run further writings by DMShoe. Not so much because I feel bad about the variations from last time, but rather because I realize I am still learning the ettiquettes and proticols associated with this.

So, to reitterate, if there is an invitation and with DMShoe's guidance, I would would be happy to continue to observe and record. (I wonder if this means DungeonWorld and met Highlander.)
