How important is it to you to use the Master Maze (MM) dungeon sets? Or miniatures, for that matter?

Personally, I like using minis, and prefer to use MM for the dungeons for a sense of scale and atmosphere. But there are some considerations, such as
- Very few mini's are painted.
- Selection of mini's is limited (although the cardboard heroes widens the selection.
- We own alot of MM stuff. Smile

What are your thoughts?

Personally I like the MM stuff. I too like having the scale and general layout of a dungeon set out in front of me so that I can better visualize the setting and envionment. My only concern with miniatures is that not many of us have a lot of them. And since we are currently not set exactly as to the types of characters we are going to play I don't necessarily want to go and pick up any extras since I am a little lacking in the funds department. But once we decide for sure what types of characters and for that matter what we are going to do in our campaign I will be happy to pick up other miniatures so that I can have one that I can use consistently.

Actually, a mini painting party would be kinda fun, and productive.

I say we plan it, and see how much we can do. Maybe I could award bonus xp based on quantity and quality if people help paint my largely unpainted collection.

Not fair! Not fair. I have all of the artistic talent of a turnip! I've painted a mini before. I suck.

Still, I'll help. I'd love to get better. I'll also paint my own so I don't make Shoe's largely unpainted collection largely worthless.

Oo! Oo! Fun with paint! I'm in! And I like the MM, too. It does add to the game, being able to see things and all. It sounds like you want us to have painted minis Shoe?

Lets plan a paint party sometime soon, then.

Robin, you can simply dip the minis, giving them a good basecoat, then the rest of us can do some detailing.

As far as requiring painted minis.. I'm not going to require that you have a mini, let alone paint it, but it can add some individuality or personality to the character. I won't object if you want to BYOPM.

Heh, I guess I need to finally go out and aquire a mini or two so I can stop pilfering Dez's.

The problem with that is I've never seen a mini that just jumped out and said, I'm the mini you want *sigh*

Oooh. I have. I had the Szass Tam mini, the Raistlin mini, the Gandalf Mini, and a couple of other wizards. They all jumped out at me and said, "Mortal, thou art mine!"

And then I crushed them with a few swift blows of my heel and that just enraged the shopkeeper who never believed my story about the demonic dire leads... *sigh*

I've got paint!

Heh, the paint I've got is Acrylic and it's over a decade old *cackle*. I don't know why I even still have it around. Last time I did any painting was in umm.... 7th - 8th grade with some models which I don't even have anymore.
