It's part of the group ACL system of the boards. Remember our attempt at a "members only" forum for you at one point? Well this system goes a bit further. Forums can be setup so that only the valid members of a group can even see it and you don't have to have me do the assigning. I can give any person group moderator access and they can accept/deny any candidates into a group.
Here... let me set one up for your Banewarrens for you... _________________ May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. ~ Excerpt from the start of Saint Theresa's Prayer |

There now only people that you approve into the Banewarrens Usergroup can do any kind of posts... however as I set it to private not hidden, anyone can still read that forum.
I can go so far as to create the forum hidden and even set the Usergroup as a hidden user group.
Oh... a side note... since I'm admin on the board I can still post and moderate in that forum even though I haven't put myself in your Banewarrens usergroup. I don't actually know what happens if I set it to hidden... I have to believe that I would still see it as I essentially have super-moderator powers on any and all forums. _________________ May today there be peace within. Actually, we can't read from it, either. Just jumped down there to see what it was, and lo & behold, I received the following message.

Sorry but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum.

Would you please mark it hidden, so it no longer taunts us?

Until the other members join, and I have usernames, can you set the Banewarrens forum to default? Once we get it running, we'll experiment with the groups thing.
Thanks!

I guess I could have simply read the FAQ -- apparently it is the repository for answers to questions that might be asked, and they anticipated my question as one that might be asked frequently!

Taunt... taunt... taunt... eh? Oh, hehe, sorry. Ok, it's set back to a registered users forum for now.
@Dez I realized why it did that... I unwittingly set it to everyone visible, but only group members readable... _________________ May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. ~ Excerpt from the start of Saint Theresa's Prayer |
