DMShoe,

Just wondering how many stronghold spaces of land do I currently have available for building on. It might make a difference in the level of sophistication I choose to pay for. Also, as I look at the clusters listed in the Stronghold Builder's Guidebook I am wondering if it is possible to mix and match components.

As for actual construction, is it possible to build an area "secretly." I understand that the builders will know about it, but I am wondering if it is reasonably possible to keep everyone else in town from knowing about it.

I'll get back to you on the land -- You likely have a plot about 40x50 to build on (5 stronghold spaces per floor).

Building "secretly" is all a matter of cost. Sure, the builders would know -- but so would anyone who kept track of the rebuilding effort. In a city as large as Ravensport, there's bound to be someone who will keep an eye on things, and judge the amount of materials and labor that arrive.

There are ways around it, of course... All the way up to gating in materials and labor from another world or plane, directly into the basement.

Or have a portal in the basement to a demiplane somewhere -- a pocket dimension, that just looks like a basement..

But the more outlandish, the more expensive.

And after all, its not like the local workforce is going to install webcams in the ceilings, or something..

Cams made from web? That doesn't seem like they would be all that usefull for any kind of heavy lifting as they would stick to the rope...
